CAROL STREAM – Senior Brody Squires broke the boys school record for long jump at the DuPage County Boys Championships on Friday.

Brody made a jump of 23 feet, 3.5 inches to place third in the event. The old record was set by Kevin Wakley in 1996 with a jump of 23 feet, 2.75 inches. Squires also has the 13th best high jump in school history with a 6-foot, 1.5-inch jump in 2022.

“Ever since freshman year, I’ve just been increasing around two feet every year, “said Squires. “When I found [that he beat the record], I was pretty stoked, but at the same time, I could have done better.”

Squires was also an indoor and outdoor state qualifier for long jump in 2022 and an indoor state qualifier for long jump in 2023.
